Even before the buzz around iPhone 6 and 6 Plus could die down completely, Motorola recently entered with its flagship Google Nexus 6 just as OnePlus (Chinese smartphone maker) decided to debut in the Indian market with its ‘2014 flagship killer’ One smartphone before the end of this year, too. So while some of you, who held your horses in time to reconsider buying an iPhone 6 Plus, and instead started dreaming of what Android Lollipop has in store for you, we bring for you a comparison of the devices and a more economic yet, no less a technologically wonderful option for those of us who look for the highest value for our money.
Read on and make an informed decision, or help others make one.
Before we begin with the specifications, here is a quick look at the price:
iPhone 6 Plus starts at price of around Rs 62,500 (online) for 16GB variant and goes upward for higher variants.
OnePlus One is expected to be priced between Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 (approx.).
Google Nexus 6 is expected to be priced between Rs 35,000 to Rs 45,000 (approx.).
Build & Color: Starting with the thickness and weight, the iPhone 6 Plus is the slimmest at 7.1mm and lightest at 175gm, while the OnePlus One comes in second at 8.9mm in thickness and 162gm in weight, and finally, the Google Nexus 6 is 10mm thick and 184gm heavy. The OnePlus One is made using magnesium alloy giving it a rough textured back, which is replaceable, with a metallized edge. Color options include black and white. The Google Nexus 6 on the other hand gets a plastic body in Midnight Blue or Cloud White colors with a metallic rim. The iPhone 6 Plus gets the more premium looking aluminium back case and comes in silver, gold and slate grey colors.
Display & Dimensions: Coming to the display, which is why we chose to compare them, iPhone 6 Plus and OnePlus One come neck to neck (size wise) with a 5.5 inch display and Nexus 6 offers a slightly bigger screen of 5.96 inch, which makes it look surprisingly much bigger, given the small difference. If we consider the body to screen ratio, which decides how easy the phone is to handle with one hand, the OnePlus One is a winner as it is 152.9mm x 75.9mm with thinner bezels than iPhone 6 Plus, which is taller and wider at 158.1mm x 77.8mm, and Nexus 6 offers a bigger screen in a 159.26mm x 82.98mm (bigger) body. If you are looking at the price, OnePlus One’s LTPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, with 1080 x 1920 pixels and Gorilla Glass 3 protection, is tough competition to iPhone 6 Plus’ LED-backlit IPS LCD, capacitive touchscreen, with 1080 x 1920 pixels, shatter proof glass and oleo-phobic coating. To match up to the screen size, Nexus 6 sports a Quad HD (AMOLED) capacitive touchscreen with 1440 x 2560 pixels and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Processor, RAM & ROM: Talking about the processors of the phones, iPhone 6 Plus falls into a completely different league, as it uses Apple A8 chipset- a 1.4 GHz dual-core Cyclone (ARM v8-based) CPU and PowerVR GX6450 quad-core graphics unit. The competition is between OnePlus One armed with 2.5 GHz quad-core Krait 400 Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset and Adreno 330 GPU, and Google Nexus 6 equipped with 2.7 GHz quad-core Krait 450 Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 and Adreno 420 GPU. Looking at the price of One and Nexus 6, it is safe to say that the OnePlus is offering quite a good deal at almost half the price of Nexus 6. The iPhone 6 Plus offers 1GB RAM and comes with 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB variants of inbuilt memory, obviously at varying prices to match. OnePlus One gets 3GB RAM and comes with 16 GB and 64 GB internal memory options, Nexus 6 also offers the speed of 3 GB RAM but comes in 32 GB and 64 GB variants.

Camera: Coming to the spec., which has become the crucial deciding factor for most buyers, the Apple loyalists swear by the quality of iPhone cameras, which seem to have outperformed higher MP cameras in other phones. iPhone 6 Plus gives you an 8 MP primary camera and a 1.2 MP secondary camera, with great Optical Image Stabilization and video recording capabilities, OnePlus One offers 13MP rear camera with auto focus and dual LED but no OIS, and a 5 MP front camera, and the Nexus 6 packs in a 13 MP camera with auto focus, dual LED, OIS and other really good specifications, and a 2MP front camera. Online proof suggests the One camera gives more than satisfying results, unlike other cameras of Chinese smartphones. Concrete proof of Nexus 6 picture-taking ability is yet to arrive, but if the specs. are anything to go by, it is very likely to exceed expectations.
Battery: Last but not the least, all the three phones promise to give up to 24 hours of 3G talk. While iPhone 6 Plus gets 2915 mAh Li-Po battery, which is claimed to last for a guaranteed minimum period of 12 hours, OnePlus One comes with 3100 mAh Li-Po battery, and Google Nexus 6 Plus gets 3220 mAh Li-Po battery, which when charged with Motorola Turbo Charger gets an additional life of 6 hours in merely 15 minutes.
