Rather educative in approach, this app provides you with a
number of suggestions that tricks on how to keep yourself out of danger. It
teaches proactive offense and it tells ways of using common objects to assist
you, should you find yourself in a tough spot. The app includes some real life
stories to high light how important it is for women to learn self defense.
2) I M Safe
Availability: Android
The app lets you send your location to your parents or
partner. You can configure a number that will consistently receives an SMS with
your current GPS location. A user needs to put in the number to be informed and
all other aspects will be taken care by app itself.
3) Glympse
Availability: All Platforms
This app too is a simple way of keeping your well wisher
informed about your current location. You can send information via email, sms,
facebook, or twitter. To share your location, choose the contact you want to
share your location with, choose duration for which you wish to do so, and press
send. The selected person will receive a web link to view your current location
and can see your location on a map within a browser.
4) My Security App
Availability: Iphone
Whats makes this personal security app special is a friend
tracker feature in which you can allow someone to keep an eye on you. The app
works through gps and you can add as many peoples in your contact list that you
wish to inform and can also choose how you want them to be contacted i.e, via
email or push notification. In settings,you can choose from different alarms
available and a contact person to send that alarm. You can also use safety cam
in which you take a picture of a person who you think could harm you send panic
button to send your contact list with a message and mail.
Smart Safety Tips :
1) Try to carry a pepper spray - a squirt can really make
your attacker's life miserable.
2) Always keep the number of those you trust on speed dial.
3) Immediately dial 100 if you feel that you are in danger.
4) If you feel lonely, or threatened, doing something as
simple as taking out a phone and talking on it can also deter attacker's.
