Phone might have got bigger and smarter than ever before but
battery life seems to be shrinking rapidly. We take a look at some measures to
get more out of your smartphone battery by Sunny Kumar
1) KEEP IT DIM::
You might be unaware of the fact that while you are using
your phone, its display is constantly consuming its battery. Keeping its
brightness on the lower side will not hinder the visibility of the content and
will also keep battery consumption low. Most phones come with tweaking options-
we suggest you use them.
2) SHUT THE APPS NOT IN USE:::
We often use an app, but then forget to exit it properly
while switching to another app. It could be messenger app, a social networking
service or even a game. In most cases, this results in the app running in the
background and depleting battery, just remember to properly exit and shut down
the apps you are not using and you will find your battery lasting long.
3) 3G or NOT:::
Switching over to a high speed networking like 3g might give
you faster browsing and downloading speed, but will also take a heavy toll of
your battery. So whenever not needed, turn 3G off in your phone. Your basic
task like calls, texts, and email work just as well on 2G.
4) TURN WIFI, GPS AND BLUETOOTH OFF:::
Connectivity options have added a new dimension to our lives
and gps has brought navigation and geo-tagging to our handsets. But all these
options guzzle battery too. So when you are not using them, remember to turn
them off.
5) CAMERA CAUTION:::
If Your smartphone comes with a powerful camera, do remember
to exit it properly. If it is running in the background, it will consume
battery. And even while using your phone's camera. Just remember that taking
picture's and video's also uses battery. No, we are not asking you to stop
taking pictures. Just asking you to be careful while doing so.
6) USE BATTERY SAVING APPS
There are several apps available in apps available in app
stores on almost every platform to save battery. These vary from alerting you
about the battery status to alerting you about open apps etc.
